Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrasts

This week’s photo challenge on The Daily Post is Contrasts.  Contrast is a cool idea to play with because it can relate to so many different things: textures, colors, shapes, light/dark, theme…  With all of that in mind, I debated between a couple of different photos, but decided on this one I took at the What IF… Festival one year.  Each year, they have a sidewalk sectioned off for chalk art that gets done during the festival.  It’s one of my favorite parts of the festival and makes for some great photos.

DSC_0079The yellow and orange pops against the dominant blue, contrasting the colors.  I also like the way the hard surface of the sidewalk contrasts against the softness of the chalk and the curves of the drawing.
